The University of Nizwa (UoN) and the GS Microelectronics, U.S. Inc. (GSME) have partnered to establish the "Nizwa Advanced Technology." This Muscat-based company will provide specialist semiconductor solutions and programs, as well as an integrated training center. UoN owns 90%, with GSME owning the remaining 10%. Further investment opportunities for local businesses and individuals will be revealed later.

This ground-breaking project complements Oman's digital strategy and Oman vision (Oman 2040). It intends to strengthen Oman's semiconductor business and establish necessary training infrastructure. The center will cater to workers at national institutions, job seekers, international firms, and students.

Dr. Walid Al-Rajhi, Dean of the Deanship of Planning and Quality Management at UoN, emphasizes the importance of this project. He underlines the company's alignment with national interests and its ability to reduce dependency on foreign training programs.

The collaboration with GSME, delivers vital experience to Oman. According to Dr. Al-Rajhi, the project has passed economic feasibility assessments and is well-positioned to meet the demands of Oman's job market.

The Nizwa Advanced Technology base will move Oman to the forefront of semiconductor education while also serving as a regional training and development base. This effort represents an important investment in Oman's future technological and human capital development.
