112 female students join CHS programmes at QU – The Peninsula

Doha: The College of Health Sciences (CHS) at Qatar University (QU) recently participated in the first exhibition of the new students orientation of the QU-Health cluster at Qatar University, under the slogan: “Your Gateway to the Health Professions”.

The event, which was held at the Ibn Al Bitar Building at QU, was opened by QU President Dr. Hassan Al Derham, with Dr. Asma Al Thani, Vice-President for Health and Medical Sciences, and H E Major General (Doctor) Asaad Ahmed Al Asaad, Commander of Medical Services - Qatar Armed Forces, Deans of health-related colleges, department heads, faculty members, and students in attendance.

This year, 112 new female students join the various majors offered at the College of Health Sciences, which include Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, Human Nutrition, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences.

The exhibition included different internal and external participants in addition to the various departments at Qatar University to provide general information about programmes, employment opportunities, and support services. Booths included Student clubs, Academic Advising, Academic Excellence Program, General Requirements Program, Library, Security and Safety Department, in addition to the participation of entities from various health sectors in the country: Hamad Corporation, Primary Health Care Corporation, Aspetar, Sidra Medicine, and the Qatar Armed
