EAA and QNCECS facilitate national dialogue on education sector – The Peninsula

Doha: Education Above All Foundation (EAA) and the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science (QNCECS) facilitated a national dialogue on key priorities for education in Qatar recently.

As a result, participants developed a series of brief recommendations that will be presented to the General Secretariat of Transforming Education Summit during the dedicated pre-summit in Paris and the main conference in New York, planned for September 2022.

Over 50 stakeholders, including ministries, Qatar’s governmental and non-governmental entities, academic institutions, private companies, local and international organisations, as well as teachers, parents, students and youth, gathered at the College of Islamic Studies of Hamad Bin Khalifa University for two days of discussions. Education Above All Foundation hosted three panel discussions, covering 21st-century education transformations and goals, sustainable public financing, and inclusive, equitable, safe and healthy schools.

Education Above All also led sessions on the role of education in sustainable development, as well as the importance of higher education in fostering new skills for the job market.

Education Above All’s Director of Operations, Arwa Mosaed, delivered the closing statement, which encompassed recommendations and proposals elaborated during workshops and consultations that will be used to develop a comprehensive report on Qatar’s educational transformation and development.
