HBKU’s TII opens registration for immersive language courses for all ages – The Peninsula

Doha: The Language Centre at the Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII), Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has opened registration for its Fall 2022 language programmes, which will run from September 4 to November 9. Learners can choose from 12 languages.

Classes will be offered in person at Penrose House (LAS Building), Education City or online. The courses available to adults, children, and youth are: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German — in partnership with the Goethe Institut Gulf Region — Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish.

Additionally, adults can also learn Japanese, English, Korean, and Russian.

TII language courses range from beginner (no prior experience) to advanced levels. Students with prior knowledge of a language may take a placement test to determine which level is right for them.

Classes will offer an immersive learning experience alongside an enriching introduction to the culture each language represents.

Students are taught entirely in the target language and will develop proficiencies in all four communicative skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Highly qualified, experienced, language professionals use a variety of instructional formats to deliver course content, while small class sizes encourage interaction and support to develop confidence in speaking from the first lesson.
