Qatar Charity honours sponsored students at Mogadishu University



Qatar Charity (QC) organised a ceremony to honour 137 male and female sponsored students who graduated from Mogadishu University in Somalia during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Qatar's ambassador to Somalia Hassan bin Hamza Hashim, Somalia's Deputy Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs Salah Sharif Sayid Ali, Mogadishu University president Dr Ibrahim Mohamed Mursal, and a QC delegation headed by CEO's assistant for the International Operations and Programmes sector Nawaf Abdullah al-Hammadi were present.

Deputy minister Ali lauded QC’s efforts in Somalia in various fields, including sponsoring orphans, needy families, people with special needs, students, and teachers.

Himself a QC sponsored student once, Ali said that without the support he would not have been able to be a deputy minister and a member of the Somali parliament at present. He stated that he sponsored 20 male and female students to return the favour.

Congratulating the graduates, al-Hammadi urged them to do their best to achieve excellence in careers to contribute to developing their country and community.
