QU ranks among top universities in GCC visibility rankings – The Peninsula

Doha: A new study has revealed the visibility of national universities across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to determine which is the most visible internationally.

Qatar University placed strongly across the board, beating out UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwaiti national universities. King Saud University takes the top spot overall. The GCC universities results were mapped onto radar charts revealing how each compares across the spectrum.

The study measured university brand visibility across six metrics: news media mentions, unique website visitors, level of search interest, website citations, views of university video content, and the total online footprint of the institution.

Nino Kader, Partner at American Caldwell stated, “A greater level of visibility leads to a myriad of benefits including higher enrollment, improved brand strength and increased revenue opportunities.”

Qatar is home to several prominent US universities and has the distinction of having the most American universities anywhere in the world outside of the United States. The study’s results show that among the top six American universities with branch campuses, Georgetown University has the most news media mentions overall. Carnegie Mellon has the most views of video content and Cornell University takes the top spot for the categories of Interest, Citations, Visitors, and Footprint.
