UNICEF lauds Saudi Arabia’s efforts to promote education

RIYADH: The UN Children’s Fund has expressed its sincere appreciation to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for its efforts in supporting education around the world. In a statement issued on the occasion of the International Day of Education, the organization hailed its partnership with the center, stressing that it will contribute to ensuring education for children globally. The center has implemented various humanitarian programs and projects in the educational sector in needy and vulnerable countries in cooperation with UNICEF, including supporting children’s access to quality education opportunities, ensuring the continuity of the educational process in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, providing schoolbags and supplies, and psychological and social rehabilitation programs for children. Moreover, the strategic cooperation between the two sides includes the health, water, and environmental sanitation fields and several other vital sectors. Separately, the center successfully dismantled, during the fourth week of January, a total of 3,233 mines planted by the Houthi militia across Yemen.
