The Sharjah Award for Education Excellence (SAEE), affiliated with the Sharjah Education Council (SEC) selected the late Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Personality of Year, in the category of individuals and institutions supporting education. The 27th session of SAEE for the academic year 2020 - 2021 covers 12 categories.

The selection comes in appreciation of the late Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum's efforts to support and develop education within and outside the UAE, and his pioneering contribution in several fields, most notably, local and international educational fields.
