It was a test, and we passed: Sheikh Mohammed to students
In March this year, all schools in the UAE were directed to close as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Thursday put out a message of encouragement addressed to the students of the UAE.
In a video posted to Twitter, he said: "Dear students, an unprecedented academic year has ended... a test for us all, but we passed. Thank you for your diligence."

Sheikh Mohammed went on to thank the "parents, dedicated teachers" and the Ministry of Education team in the country.
He ended with wishes for a good break, saying, "Have a happy holiday & see you next year in the best of health & success."
