Sharjah gifts the Historical Corpus of the Arabic Language to Seoul’s Hankuk University

Sharjah: Sharjah has presented on Saturday the completed volumes of the Historical Corpus of the Arabic Language to Seoul’s Hankuk University As per the directive of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the novel gift was presented by Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) to the Institute of Arab Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies founded in Seoul in 1954. The Historical Corpus of the Arabic Language is the world’s first and most comprehensive collection that chronicles 17 centuries of development in the Arabic language. This gift from Sharjah is a vital and valuable source of knowledge that students, researchers, literary, linguists and academic experts in South Korea will have access to as they pursue their exploratory journeys and specialisations in language, literature, and ancient and contemporary arts of the Arab region.
