Bahrain’s e-passport wins 10 gold and silver London Design Awards



In an international milestone that affirms the wise vision and directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain’s e-passport has won ten gold and silver London Design Awards. The electronic passport was part of the support provided by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for implementing Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) initiatives launched by the cabinet as part of the Economic Recovery Plan.The e-passport was launched by the Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in March 2023.The e-passport won three gold awards and seven silver awards at The London Design Award, which is an international competition that recognises designs that are truly exceptional in the visualisation of creative influence.This year, 3000 participants from 45 countries competed for the titles to encourage creativity and innovation by covering various specialities, including architecture, interior design, product design, graphic design, and digital design. The passport showcases Bahrain’s distinctive Arab characteristics, embodied in the image of an Arabian horse and a falcon. It is distinguished by its style, which tells stories from the history of Bahrain, as it is a centre for the pearl trade. It also displays recent achievements
