Pakistan, Bahrain keen to improve & promote bilateral cooperation

Bahrain and Pakistan have discussed the importance of enhancing and promoting bilateral cooperation in a variety of sectors of mutual interest.

The two sides emphasized the need to further improve trade, economic and political relations. The discussion was made during a meeting between Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi and the visiting parliamentary delegation of Bahrain, which is led by the Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain, HE Fawzia Bint Abdulla Zainal.

Welcoming the delegation, the president said that “both countries enjoyed excellent relations in various fields.” He further noted that Pakistan’s agricultural, food, livestock, fisheries, and surgical equipment exports to Bahrain have significant potential and that the volume of trade between the two countries needs to be increased.

The president added, “Pakistan is an attractive destination for foreign investors because it offers great trade and investment opportunities and the business community in Bahrain needs to take advantage of these opportunities.”

Further, he deeply thanked the Government of Bahrain for establishing the King Hamad University of Nursing and Associated Medical Sciences in Islamabad.

President Alvi reiterated the invitation to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to visit Pakistan.
