Women make up 41% of Bahrain Bourse workforce

MANAMA: Women account for 41 per cent of the Bahrain Bourse (BHB) workforce and 30pc of leadership roles in the exchange, it has emerged.The self-regulated, multi-asset marketplace has taken a number of gender equality initiatives to promote and empower female professionals in the workplace, a BHB statement said.Steps taken include ‘working from home' arrangements, aimed at fostering a healthy work-life balance for women in the organisation.The flexible working option is available to female employees in the third trimester of their pregnancy, and up to one year in post-natal period.All other employees can avail of ‘working from home' for up to one month.BHB chief operating officer and gender equality committee head Narjes Jamal said, “Bahrain Bourse is committed to adopting new ways of operating which includes fostering a conducive working environment
