Bourse trading displays positive performance to continue green streak – Egypt Today





Cairo – January 15, 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday trading to maintain a two-day green streak, with an added LE 19.1 billion to the market cap.

Benchmark index EGX 30 jumped by 1.06 percent to end the session at 26,250.73 points.

EGX 70 was up by 1.32 percent at 6,220.97 points, with EGX 100 climbing by 1.09 percent to 8,809.71 points.

Monday trading reported that 1.94 billion shares were exchanged with a turnover of LE 5.27 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.836,5 trillion, compared to Sunday’s LE 1.817,4 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian and Arab investors as net sellers with LE 237.91 million and LE 146.47 million, respectively. Foreign investors were net buyers with LE 384.38 million.

The top gains of the session were by Misr National Steel – Ataqa which surged by 19.94 percent, Sinai Cement by 19.92 percent, and Iron and Steel for Mines and Quarries by 13.04 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation which dropped by 6.89 percent, Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co. by 4.99 percent, and Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool by 3.78 percent.
