EGX ends record-breaking year in the green – Egypt Today
Cairo – December 31, 2023: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closes its trading floor for the final time in 2023 with a positive note, ending the year with a market capitalization of LE 1.719,6 trillion.
Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.82 percent to end the year at 24,894.26 points. The index has broken records this year, reaching a historical high of almost 25 thousand points.
EGX 70 reported a slight climb of 0.19 percent to 5,473.42 points while EGX 100 was up by 0.34 percent at 7,880.35 points.
Sunday trading saw 950.54 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 2.87 billion.
trading on securities saw foreign and Egyptian investors as net buyers with LE 11.52 million and LE 11.17 million, respectively. Arab traders were net sellers with LE 22.69 million
