EGX ends Tuesday on mixed note, market cap. gains LE3.26B



CAIRO – 4 May 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday session on mixed note, adding around LE 3.26 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian selling.





 





The benchmark EGX30 inched down 0.09 percent, or 9.67 points, to end at 10,465.59 points.





 





On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 0.58 percent, or 11.77 points, to end at 2,054.79 points.





 





Moreover, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 2.06 percent, or 42.39 points, to close at 2,101.37 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 1.35 percent, or 40.29 points, to close at 3,014.36 points.





 





Market capitalization gained around LE 3.26 billion, recording LE 653.98 billion, compared to LE 650.07 billion in Wednesday’s session.





 





The trading volume reached 316.4 million shares, traded through 30,948 transactions, with a turnover of LE 789.87 million.





 





Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 9.27 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 6.44 million, and LE 2.82 million, respectively.





 





Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 121.695, and LE 375,580, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net buyers at LE 19.09 million.
