EGX returns to the green at the end of Monday trading despite Arab and foreign selling – Egypt Today





Cairo – December 25, 2023: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday trading on a high note as benchmark index EGX 30 jumped by 1.7 percent to 24,226.68 points.

EGX 70 was up by 0.65 percent to 5,347.78 points, with EGX 100 closing the session higher by 0.68 percent to 7,691.07 points

Monday trading saw 1.35 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 2.71 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.6638 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net sellers with LE 67.57 million. Arab and foreign traders were net buyers with LE 60.38 million and LE 7.18 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by the Egyptian Modern Education Systems which surged by 19.77 percent, El Nasr Clothes & Textiles (Kabo) by 12.7 percent, and Extracted Oils by 11.67 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Reacap Financial Investments which dropped by 6.36 percent, Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing by 6.16 percent, and Egyptian Real Estate Group by 4.98 percent.
