Stock market news live updates: Stocks drift lower as traders look ahead to Fed decision

Stock futures edged higher Monday morning, with the S&P 500 looking to steady near record levels as traders awaited a Federal Reserve monetary policy decision later this week. 

Contracts on the S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow rose. U.S. crude oil prices dipped to trade near $71 per barrel. Treasury yields fell across the long end of the curve, and the benchmark 10-year yield held below 1.5%. Bitcoin prices ticked down to trade. below $49,000. 

Shares of heavily weighted U.S. equity index component Apple (AAPL) added another more than 1% in early trading and looked set to open at a fresh all-time high. On Friday, Apple shares closed within 2% of bringing the stock's market capitalization to $3 trillion.
