Twitter, Blackstone, IAC: What to Watch When the Stock Market Opens Today
U.S. stock futures rose after Republicans offered a short-term debt-limit extension, helping stave off immediate concerns about a possible government default. Here’s what we’re watching ahead of Wednesday’s open.
Twitter shares rose 2% in premarket trading after the company said it is selling mobile ad firm MoPub to AppLovin for $1.05 billion in cash. AppLovin jumped more than 9%.
Private equity giant Blackstone rose 3.3%. It said it will acquire a majority stake in visa outsourcing services provider VFS Global from EQT, another private equity investor.
Barry Diller‘s media conglomerate IAC/InteractiveCorp. climbed 4.5% after it reached a $2.7 billion deal to buy Meredith, a magazine publisher with brands such as People and InStyle.
Megacap tech companies gained premarket as government bond yields edged down. Amazon.com , Google-parent Alphabet and Microsoft all added around 1%. Nvidia rose 2%.
Earnings are due from Conagra Brands , Tilray , Lamb Weston and Helen of Troy before the opening bell.
