Wall St drops 1% as Ukraine worries eclipse strong jobs data – Reuters

March 4 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes lost more than 1% on Friday as concerns over the intensifying war in Ukraine overshadowed data that showed an acceleration in jobs growth last month.

Ten of the 11 major S&P sectors declined in early trading, with financials (.SPSY) falling the most. Bank of America (BAC.N) dropped 3.0% and the broader banks index (.SPXBK) was down 2.9%, tracking a fall in Treasury yields.

Equities globally were weaker and safe-havens in demand as Russian invasion forces seized Europe's biggest nuclear power plant in what Washington called a reckless assault that risked catastrophe. read more
