Why were only one-third of IPOs in 2021 successful despite GCC’s largest volume of listings in 14 years? – Arabian Business

Although 2021 was the best year for new listings since 2007, marking 38 market debuts in the GCC region, the high volume of IPOs disguises the stark truth – only one-third of the listing were successful.

A new report, titled The Renaissance of IPOs in the GCC and published by Iridium Advisors, examines the success rate of company listings and demystifies some common misconceptions about IPO winners and losers.

“It is very encouraging to see government-owned and private companies embracing public equity markets in the GCC,” said Oliver Schutzmann, the CEO of Iridium Advisors and a co-author of the report.
