Malaysia shares expertise with Jordan, says envoy

Ammon News - Malaysia's Ambassador to Amman Datuk Jilid Kuminding affirmed his country’s commitment to continue sharing developmental experiences and expertise with Jordan by providing various human capacity building programs and technical assistance in the coming years, Jordan News Agency Petra reported.

The envoy made his remarks during the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) alumni gathering on Wednesday evening at the Malaysian embassy in Amman.

Since the establishment of the MTCP in 1980, Kuminding indicated, it has trained a total of 426 participants from Jordan, adding "from January to October 2021, a total of 21 Jordanians have participated in various short-term MTCP training courses. Among the courses that they attended this year including Islamic microfinance, air traffic management, maritime operation, rural development.", as reported by Petra.

The MTCP, the ambassador said, focuses on human resource development by providing training in various areas which are essential for a country’s development such as public administration, agriculture, poverty alleviation, investment promotion, ICT, banking and English language.
