Royal jubilee holiday includes private sector – Roya News English

The Ministry of Labor confirmed that Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh's announcement for a holiday on Sunday, June 9, applies to the private sector. This date marks the celebration of King Abdullah II's accession to the throne and the silver jubilee of his reign.

Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh issued the announcement to suspend work in all ministries, official departments, public institutions, universities, municipalities, joint service councils, and government-owned companies on Sunday, June 9.

The Prime Minister’s Office stated that the holiday honors King Abdullah II’s ascension to the throne and the kingdom's celebrations of the silver jubilee of his constitutional powers.

The announcement noted exceptions for ministries, departments, and institutions whose work nature requires otherwise.

The statement highlighted that Jordanians will reflect on the journey of progress, achievement, and building towards a better future for Jordan.
