MSX index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4, 102. 83 points, up 0. 11 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0. 32 per cent at 596. 71 points. Al Maha Marketing, up 8. 00 per cent, was the top gainer while Vision Insurance, down 3. 33 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Oman Investment & Financials were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. A total number of 1, 199 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR5. 8 million, with more than 30 million shares changing hands. Out of 56 traded stocks, 14 advanced, 15 declined and 27 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR413, 000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR359, 000 followed by local investors for OMR53, 000 worth of shares. Financial Index closed at 6, 522. 03 points, up 0. 09 per cent. Ahlia Insurance, Ahli Bank, Al Anwar Investment, Al Sharqia Investment and Oman United Insurance were up 7. 65 per cent, 1. 80 per cent, 1. 77 per
