Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4, 258. 46 points, up by 0. 45 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0. 35 per cent at 482. 4 points. Al Madina Investments, up 20 per cent, was the top gainer while, Raysut Cement, down 10 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Galfar Engineering were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat were the most active in terms of turnover. A total number of 881 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR4. 24 million, with more than 25. 54 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded securities, 15 advanced, 19 declined, and 12 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR426, 000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR261, 000, followed by domestic investors for OMR165, 000 worth of shares. Financial Index closed at 6, 761. 88 points, up 0. 46 per cent.
