Muscat International Book Fair kicks off

Muscat: The 28th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair kicked off on Wednesday and will continue till March 2, 2024, packed with new events, especially after the success in the previous 27th edition.The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Mohammed bin Said al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.The Governorate of Al Dhahirah is the guest of honour of this edition.A pavilion is dedicated to highlight Al Dhahira intellectual, civilizational and cultural history.28th Muscat International Book Fair saw the launch of Oman Youth Encyclopedia whose entries are derived from the original Oman Encyclopedia in an orderly manner that pertains to the target age group.Characterized by artificial intelligence, Muscat Book Fair sees the participation of 847 publishing houses from 34 countries. The fair showcases 622k titles including 19k Omani books.
