Muscat has emerged as the top city in Asia for Quality of Life, according to the Numbeo Index for the 2023 mid-year.The Sultanate's capital scored 176.80 on the Quality of Life Index, above Abu Dhabi (173), Dubai (172.7), Tokyo (166.5), Doha (158.5), Bursa (156), Singapore (153.3), and Taiwan 149.9.Among other GCC countries, Jeddah scored 149.1, Riyadh 148.1, and Kuwait City 116.4.Globally, the city is ranked 17 for quality of life.Oman was rated very high in the safety index (80.17), moderate in the purchasing power index (79.20), and high in the health care (60.67) and climate (67.22) indexes.The Sultanate also scores well in the traffic commute time index with the average time taken to work being 22.17 minutes using a car.Quality of Life Index is an estimation of the overall quality of life in a city or country.It takes into account various factors that impact one's quality of life, including purchasing power, pollution levels, housing affordability, cost of living, safety, healthcare quality, commute times, and climate conditions.
