Khartoum, Sudan – The first lot of the relief flights operated by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Oman Charitable Organization (OCO), in cooperation with the Royal Air Force of Oman, reached Khartoum in Sudan on Friday.

The military transport aircraft of RAFO carrying various relief materials and necessary goods for humanitarian assistance, were received at the Port Sudan New International Airport by H E Ali bin Sulaiman al Darmaki, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Sudan, and Sudanese officials such as Ahmed Adam Bakhit, Minister of Social Development and chairman of the Higher Committee for Handling Humanitarian and Health Conditions, Fathallah Haj Ahmed, governor of the Red Sea State, and Othman Abu Fatima, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

‘The operation of these flights comes within the framework of the humanitarian efforts provided by Oman in emergency and exceptional cases for brotherly and friendly countries,’ ONA stated.

‘The provision of relief material will continue over the coming days in solidarity with Sudan through several relief flights under an air bridge,’ it added.
