Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3, 667. 71 points, up 0. 34 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0. 67 per cent at 540. 30 points. Oman Arab Bank, up 6. 54 per cent, was the top gainer while Oman Cement, down 7. 78 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Ahli Bank were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover. A total number of 680 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR44. 5 million, with more than 388 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded stocks, 15 advanced, 9 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR72, 000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR52, 000 followed by foreign investors for OMR20, 000 worth of shares. Financial Index closed at 5, 626. 76 points, up by 0. 78 per cent.
