QU’s CLD marks 100th publication

The Centre for Law & Development (CLD) of the College of Law at Qatar University (QU) celebrated a milestone as it marked its 100th publication since its launch in January 2017.

These publications are in the form of high-impact Scopus journal articles, non-Scopus journal articles, book chapters, and books.

Some of the publications are highly cited as recognised by Web of Science, and some have been influential in the development of laws and policy internationally.

Scopus is an Elsevier's abstract and citation database launched in 2004 to improve institutions' and professionals' progress in sciences and healthcare.

The CLD publications revolve around topics beneficial to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 and National Development Strategy, including economic development, environmental protection, human development, social development, and Qatari law and policy.

The CLD has a series of publications on cutting-edge research subjects related to law and emerging technologies, including on artificial intelligence, financial technology, block chain, cyber-security, and decentralised autonomous organisations.

The highest cited article received over 230 citations since 2018 and was presented at the UN General Assembly, named *Decarbonising Bitcoin: Law and policy choices for reducing the energy consumption of block chain technologies and digital currencies by CLD director Dr Jon Truby.
