‎How did Tadawul shares fare during auction time today?

The closing auction and trade at last in the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) today, March 17, saw trading of nearly SAR 105.1 million shares, with a total value of about SAR 6.5 billion, made through 20,688 transactions.

The auction period in Saudi market saw FTSE Russell implementing its changes in the market according to its semi-annual indices review.

In this report, Argaam monitors the movement of Tadawul-listed stock prices during the auction period and trade-at-last that follow the regular trading time.

The auction period lasts 10 minutes between 3:00 pm and 3:10 pm. The trade-at-last session starts from 3:10 pm to 3:20 pm.

During the 10-minute auction period, investors can place buy and sell orders based on which the system calculates a fair price per stock. This fair price serves as a reference price for the following trading day.

In trade-at-last session, market participants can place orders only at the closing price set during the closing auction.
