KSA’s SWPC achieves financial close for Jubail-3(B) desal plant – MEP MiddleEast

The Saudi Water Partnerships Company (SWPC) — in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Supervisory Committee for the Privatisation of the Environment, Water, and Agriculture Sector, and in cooperation with the project’s developers and consultants — has achieved financial closure for the Jubail-3 (B) Independent Water Producer (IWP) Desalination Plant project.

The project has a production capacity of 570,000m3 per day, and costs more than $693mn (SAR2.6bn) to be built and operated by the private sector for a period of 25 years from the date of commercial operation.

The winning consortium responsible for the project consists of ENGIE, Nesma, and Al-Ajlan.
