Saudi Govt Stresses Need to Push Peace Process Forward, Establish Palestinian State

The Saudi government stressed on Tuesday the Kingdom's categorical rejection of calls for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.

The government demanded an immediate ceasefire in the Palestinian territories and end to the siege on Gaza.

The peace process must be pushed forward in line with United Nations and Security Council resolutions and the 2002 Arab peace initiative that calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state according to the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital, it added.

The ministers were briefed on the message received by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, from UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The message tackled bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the UAE and means to bolster and develop them in all fields.
