Saudi: Mobily endorses partnership with Ericsson for Mobily Pay, AI solutions

Riyadh – Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily) has teamed up with Ericsson to launch Mobily Pay as a mobile financial service available to all the users in Saudi Arabia.

Mobily Pay will allow conducting customised financial services such as contactless payments, money transfers, and international remittances. This is in addition to digital card payments, cash-back, bill payments, mobile top-up, and more.

The new service, which is built on the Ericsson Wallet Platform, comes in accordance with a joint agreement between Mobily and Ericsson that was signed in 2022, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, Ericsson will evolve and enhance the Mobily Pay platform and its operations through a five-year contract, as announced on the first day of LEAP 2023 event.

CEO of Mobily Pay, Ayman Abdullah Al Eissa, said: “Mobily Pay is live and we have already witnessed its fast adoption in the Saudi market.”

Al Eissa elaborated: “It will improve the lives of Mobily Pay users by making financial services personalised, quick, secure, and easy for everyone.”

The Vice President of Ericsson Middle East and Africa, Ekow Nelson, meanwhile commented: “We are proud to enable the launch of the state-of-the-art mobile and digital financial services in an established and advanced market like Saudi Arabia.”

At the current
