UAE markets close lower on selling pressures

Stock markets in the UAE closed lower on Sunday, amid increased selling pressures on blue-chip stocks. The main index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) finished marginally lower by 0.08% at 2,842.33 points. The traded volume amounted to 107.6 million shares, with a turnover of AED 124.44 million. The Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) lost 1.25%, Emirates NBD declined by 1.1%, while Emaar Properties and Union Properties fell by 0.79% and 0.73%, respectively. The general index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) plunged by 0.21% to the level of 6,701.88 points, after 227.29 million shares were traded at a total value of AED 1.36 billion. First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) decreased by 1.06%, while ADIB and Agthia Group slid by 1.43% and 1.62%, in that order.
