UAE stock markets close Monday on red note

UAE – Mubasher: The UAE stock markets have closed Monday's trading session in red zone amid concerns over the outbreak of a new coronavirus strain.

The benchmark index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) declined by 3.84% to settle at 2,460.77 points by the end of Monday's session.

A total of 350.45 million shares were exchanged through 5,488 transactions valued at AED 479.87 million.

Damac Properties led the losing stocks with 5%, while Emirates Refreshments Co (ERC) topped the rising stocks with 14.91%.

Union Properties posted the highest trading volume of 50.83 million shares, while Emaar Properties recorded the highest turnover of AED 100.38 million.

As for the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), the main index went down by 0.79% to close Monday at 5,073.15 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 504.26 million after 156.88 million shares had been traded through 3,434 transactions.

Abu Dhabi Aviation Co headed the green zone with 2.86%, while Sudatel Telecom Group (SDTL) topped the red zone with 4.98%.

Aldar Properties registered the highest trading volume of 39.80 million shares traded at a total value of AED 124.44 million.
