UAE stock markets see downward performance on Sunday

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE stock markets have closed Sunday's trading session in the red zone.

The benchmark index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) dropped by 1.59% or 43.09 points to settle at 2,654.06 points by the end of Sunday's trading session.

A total of 113.28 million shares were traded through 1,984 transactions valued at AED 150.79 million.

The market cap value declined by about AED 4.21 billion to AED 356.74 billion, compared to AED 360.95 billion during the previous session.

Ekttitab Holding led the losing stocks with 4.85%, while Emirates Refreshments Co topped the rising stocks with 14.79%.

As for the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchanges (ADX), the main index went down by around 0.86% to close Sunday's session at 5,593.48 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 396.73 million after 73.88 million shares had been exchanged through 1,880 transactions.

The market cap value dropped by AED 4.23 billion to AED 789.81 billion, compared to AED 794.04 billion during the previous session.

Gulf Medical Projects Company headed the red zone with 5%, while Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) came on top of the green zone with 6.45%.
