DFM ends Thursday down; market cap loses AED 1.28bn

Dubai - Mubasher: The benchmark index of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) went down by 0.61% or 12.65 points to close Thursday's trading session at 2,052.65 points, maintaining its negative performance on Wednesday, 22 July.





A total of 127.35 million shares had been traded through 2,463 transactions valued at AED 150.44 million.





The market cap value declined by AED 1.28 billion to AED 292.69 billion, compared to AED 293.97 billion.





The consumer staples sector headed the losers with 1.52%, while the investment and financial services segment came on top of the risers with 0.48%.





 Al Madina for Finance and Investment topped the losing stocks with 4.96%, while Takaful Emarat - Insurance Co led the rising stocks with 8.95%.





Union Properties recorded the highest trading volume of 30.60 million shares, while Emaar Properties posted the highest turnover of AED 45.43 million.





DXB Entertainments led the losing blue chips with 1.65%, while Arabtec Holding headed the rising blue chips with 1.23%.
