Egypt ‘ready’ to export natural gas to Lebanon immediately: Minister – Egypt Today

CAIRO - 17 October 2022: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, affirmed Egypt's commitment and readiness to immediately pump natural gas to Lebanon as soon as the procedures related to the start of exporting and receiving Egyptian gas on Lebanese territory are completed. This came during a meeting with the Minister of Petroleum, Walid Fayyad, the Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water, who is currently visiting Cairo, according to a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum, Monday. In June, Egypt, Lebanon and Syria to transport 650 million cubic meters of natural gas. The agreement includes the transportation of natural gas from Egypt to Lebanon via Syria. This came after the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum announced last February the export of natural gas from Egypt to Lebanon through the Arab Gas Pipeline during the following period. Egypt, Lebanon and Syria also sought to obtain the approval of the World Bank to finance the value of the exported gas, in addition to excluding Egypt from the Caesar sanctions imposed on Syria.
