Jordan Ahli Bank launches social payment app Qawn

Dubai: Jordan Ahli Bank has launched ‘Qawn’, billed as the country’s first-of-its-kind social payment app, by allowing users to send and receive money through built-in chat capabilities. Qawn can cater to individual users and merchants alike. One key feature is the integration with CliQ, the national payment switch in Jordan, enabling businesses to accept payments at a reduced cost. The app also empowers Jordanians to open a bank account remotely, with a ‘streamlined on-boarding process that takes only five minutes to complete’. “Money is inherently social, and we want to reinvent digital money with a social aspect,” said Nidal Khalifeh, Chief Innovation Officer at Jordan Ahli Bank. Qawn users can request payments through the chat, or use QR scan for hassle-free financial management. Given the seamless integration with CliQ, business users can use the app to accept payments and manage finances.
