Swiss inflation eases to 1.4% in November

ZURICH, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Switzerland's inflation rate eased further in November, the Federal Statistics Office said on Monday, in what marks the final reading ahead of the Swiss National bank's next interest rate decision on December 14. Swiss consumer prices rose 1.4% from a year ago in November, compared with a 1.7% increase the previous month, the office said. After a period of raised inflation, November marked the sixth month in a row when inflation has stayed within the central bank's target range of 0% to 2%. Chairman Thomas Jordan said last month the central bank would monitor the development of inflation closely ahead of its rates meeting and would not hesitate to tighten monetary policy further if necessary.
