Kuwait: First low-sulfur and low-aromatic shipment exported

Kuwait exported the first shipment of low-sulfur, low-aromatic gasoline (car fuel) that meets international environmental standards, according to Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).

KNPC’s Deputy CEO for Administrative and Commercial Affairs and Official Spokesman Ahed Al Khurayif said that the 35,000-ton shipment was exported in cooperation with Kuwait Petroleum Cooperation’s (KPC) International Marketing Sector, KUNA reported.

KNPC’s Clean Fuel Project helps produce environmental-friendly fuel, he added.

The company succeeded in meeting the local market’s demands and exported excess production.

There is a growing international demand for car fuel due to recent global crises, said Al Khurayif, prompting KPC’s International Marketing to seek new markets in Southeast Asia and Europe, generating other sources of income that contributed to the national economy.

Al Khurayif added that KNPC succeeded in overcoming challenges related to the safe operation of the Clean Fuel Project that has the potential to boost Kuwait’s regional and international position in clean energy.
