GCC meeting deliberates on joint action for economic integration



Muscat – The Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) economic coordination team on Wednesday discussed the importance of having a joint action at the regional level to achieve the desired economic integration.

H E Sultan Salim al Habsi, Oman’s Minister of Finance, underscored the importance of unifying efforts and boosting joint GCC economic action in a bid to achieve the desired economic integration.

He raised this agenda during the 119th GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting held in Muscat under his chairmanship.

The meeting dealt with several issues related to joint financial and economic cooperation and the GCC Common Market.

H E Habsi prioritised the activation of financial and economic agreements between GCC states to press ahead with achieving the council’s common goals that may catapult economic and social growth of the region.

Jassim Mohammed al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC, lauded the sultanate’s “support to the march of joint GCC action”.

He also acknowledged with gratitude Oman’s efforts in promoting GCC’s cooperation for stronger integration of resources in different spheres.

The meeting also discussed a number of submitted proposals and took necessary decisions.
