Oman implements ban on import of live fish from Trento in Italy

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has issued Ministerial Resolution No. 35/2024, prohibiting the import of certain types of live fish from the Trento region in Italy.

The post Oman implements ban on import of live fish from Trento in Italy appeared first on The Arabian Stories News.MUSCAT : The decision is based on the Veterinary Quarantine Law issued by Royal Decree No. 45/2004, and the Executive Regulations of the Veterinary Quarantine Law issued by Ministerial Resolution No. 107/2008 and the recommendation of the competent veterinary authority to ban the import of some types of live fish, their products and derivatives from the Trento region in Italy.The prohibition will remain in effect until the underlying reasons for the ban are addressed.However, products and derivatives that undergo heat treatment and are prepared in accordance with the Health Code for Aquatic Animals issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) are exempt from this ban.The competent authorities are tasked with enforcing this decision within their respective areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance with the regulatory measures.
