Oman, US committed to enhance trade, economic relations



Muscat – Jose W Fernandez, US Undersecretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, has described the free trade agreement (FTA) between Oman and the US as the focal point for supporting trade and economic relations and augmenting the volume of trade exchange between the two countries to a level that meets common aspirations.

Speaking on the sidelines of the first Oman-US Strategic Dialogue in Muscat on Thursday, Fernandez said, “The volume of trade exchange between Oman and the United States has witnessed remarkable growth over the past years, which is a good indicator in the midst of the many changes the world has witnessed that affected several aspects of life.”

He informed that through the strategic dialogue, the US hopes to deepen cooperation with Oman, especially in the fields of clean energy and green hydrogen.
