Two licences issued to run taxi services in Omani airports

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology announced having granted two licenses for firms to manage taxi services at airports of the Sultanate of Oman. The ministry pointed out that the two licensed firms were authorised to manage the services after meeting all requirements and provisions of Land Transport Law and showing commitment to accommodate, in the apps, all current taxi owners operating at Omani airports. The parties granted the licences pledged to train the taxi owners/drivers of this segment, develop their skills and fulfil all technical requirements specified by the Ministry in the license, with the prime aim of improving the public transportation system in Oman. The two licenses were gratned to Cloud World Company, represented as "Otaxi" application, and Ubar Smart Cities Company. As part of the management process, the value of the taxi service is determined at fixed prices prior to the start of each trip. The process ensures the privacy and security of the client.
