‎Here’s a review of bank branches in Saudi Arabia in H1 2022

The bank branches operating in Saudi Arabia retreated by 18 banks, reaching 1,927 by the end of H1 2022, compared with 1,945 a year earlier.

On a quarterly basis, H1 2022’s number of bank branches is the lowest since Q1 2015, when it reached 1,924.

A total of 10 new branches opened in H1 2022, while 28 were closed down, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

H1 2022 witnessed the closure of several banks, in addition to the opening of new branches, as shown in the following table:

As many as 10 Tadawul-listed banks operate in the Kingdom, in addition to 16 foreign banks, including Emirates NBD (seven branches), Gulf International Bank (GIB) (three), National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) (three) and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) (three).
