Saudi Arabia advances in Road Quality Index, ranking 4th among G20 countries





RIYADH — According to the 2023 World Economic Forum (WEF) report, Saudi Arabia has made impressive progress in the Road Quality Index (RQI), reaching a score of 5.7.This achievement places the Kingdom fourth among the G20 nations. RQI evaluates the quality of road networks, thus helping ensure user safety.Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh Bin Nasser Al-Jasser attributed this success to the unwavering support lent by the leadership and the efforts exerted to maintain the Kingdom’s global leadership in road network connectivity.He stressed on the leadership support to enhance road quality, improve operational efficiency, ensure safety, and meet the ambitious targets outlined in the national transport and logistics services strategy entailed in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.Acting CEO of the Roads General Authority (RGA) Badr Bin Abdullah Aldulami highlighted the remarkable momentum in the road sector in 2023, which contributed to this achievement.RGA said that the WEF report reflects a significant leap in the Kingdom’s RQI, from 5.2 to 5.7, representing a growth rate exceeding 10%, the highest among the G20 countries. — SPA
