Saudi Delegation Visits Occupied West Bank for First Time in Three Decades

An official Saudi delegation arrived on Tuesday an in Jericho, in the occupied West Bank, marking the first such visit in three decades since the signing of the Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestinians in 1993, which led to the establishment of the Palestinian National Authority.

Yasser Sowiti, acting governor of Jericho, informed Agence France-Presse, "The Saudi delegation has arrived in Palestinian territories," and it is led by the non-resident Ambassador to the Palestinian territories, Nayef Al-Sudairi. The delegation entered the West Bank from Jordan through the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby Bridge), which is overseen by Israel on the Jordanian side.

This visit comes at a time when Washington is facilitating talks between Israel and Saudi Arabia, a country that does not officially recognize Israel, with the aim of normalizing relations between the two nations. This development has raised concerns among Palestinians.
