MUSCAT: The private sectors in Oman and the United Arab Emirates are optimistic for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's upcoming visit to the UAE on Monday. They expect new commercial and investment opportunities to open up, contributing to increased trade and investment exchanges between the two brotherly countries. Business owners anticipate enhanced economic and joint investment cooperation, reinforcing the existing economic partnership and taking advantage of competitive business environments and investor incentives provided.Omani businessman Mustafa bin Ahmed Salman, Chairman of the United Securities Co, sees His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's visit as a culmination of the distinguished fraternal relations between the two countries, emphasising the depth of Omani-Emirati relations. He hopes the visit will lead to the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding. He also highlights the strategic partnership of the UAE as a major trading partner with Oman.The establishment of a railway network connecting Oman with the UAE is expected to increase goods and cargo transportation, boost trade between the two countries, and facilitate re-exports via Omani ports. This project aims to reduce shipping costs, accelerate cargo delivery, and attract other companies to benefit from it.
